Rent out your space

Parking in Copenhagen

Rent out your parking space in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg

A parking space between neighbours, with a written agreement and one contact person. Send us the space, and we find a tenant, draw up the agreement and follow up.

How it works

You send us the space. We find the tenant, draw up the agreement and handle the payments.

Send your parking space
  1. Send us the space

Tell us about the space, the access and your right to rent it out. It takes a few minutes.

  2. We call and find the tenant

We contact you within 3 working days, ask about the space and your documentation, and find a tenant.

  3. You both sign digitally

You and the tenant sign a written agreement. We then collect the rent from the tenant and pay it out to you after deducting the fee.

May you rent out your space?

It depends on how you hold the space. We ask about it and request documentation before the space is shown, and you confirm in the agreement that you may rent it out.

You own the house or the land

Then the space is yours. Check the land register for easements, and whether a homeowners’ association has parking rules that could forbid letting.

The space belongs to your owner-occupied flat

In Denmark, owners of flats form an owners’ association (ejerforening). Its articles and house rules may say who can park in the building. Find them before you send the space.

You have a right of use to a space in the owners’ association

The articles and house rules decide whether you may rent the space to someone who does not live in the building. Not sure? Choose “Not sure” in the form, and we will ask about it.

You live in a housing co-op

In a housing co-op (andelsboligforening), the members own the building together. Its articles and board decide whether you may rent out the space. Get the board’s answer in writing.

You are an association or a board

The association can rent out shared spaces to the extent its articles allow. If you have several empty spaces, you can send them together.

You rent your home

If you rent from a private landlord, you may only rent out the space with your landlord’s written consent (section 150(2) of the Danish Rent Act).

If you live in social housing (almen bolig), you cannot rent out the space through BY.

This is general information, not legal advice.

What do spaces rent for?

The municipalities’ prices for a resident permit, and the City of Copenhagen’s figures for what private parking cost in the new urban areas. The price of your space depends on its type, access and district, and we suggest a rent before you say yes.

WhatPrice
Resident permit in Copenhagen, 2026DKK 1,235 to 6,135 a year
Resident permit in FrederiksbergDKK 50 to 805 a year
Private parking in Nordhavn, 2023DKK 15,576 a year
Private parking in Carlsberg, 2023DKK 15,000 a year
Private parking in Ørestad, 2023DKK 13,380 a year
Private parking in Valby Syd, 2023DKK 9,744 a year
Private parking in Sydhavn, 2023DKK 7,944 to 17,556 a year

The permit price depends on the car’s fuel consumption. Frederiksberg’s rates according to frederiksberg.dk, read 1 October 2026. The prices for private parking are from 2023 and come from a report the City of Copenhagen sent to the City Council in May 2026.

Where is the pressure highest?

Frederiksberg

The counts cover selected zones, not the whole city, and are from March 2025 to March 2026. The figures are weighted averages, and many zones are above 100%. The number of spaces is the city’s data for spaces on the street, not private spaces. The city counts again in October 2026. Frederiksberg Municipality calls its data indicative and writes that the pressure is highest in the eastern part and in the evening (11 February 2025). Contains data from data.kk.dk. The figures are our own count and are not endorsed by the City of Copenhagen.
