The figures above cover Copenhagen Municipality’s three neighbourhoods Bryggen Syd, Faste Batteri and Gamle Bryggen, which together make up what is commonly called Islands Brygge: this is the municipality’s neighbourhood division, not one of its ten official districts or a local committee area. The full figures for the whole district of Amager Vest, which the area belongs to along with Ørestad among others, are on Amager’s own page. Islands Brygge does not have its own postcode either.
The residence requirement on the redeveloped harbour front
Almost all homes on Islands Brygge were built after the industrial harbour began to be redeveloped in the early 1990s, so the standard rule applies: a residence requirement once the home is, or within the last five years has been, used as a year-round home, and an empty home must be reported to the municipality after six weeks.
We have not found current, large new-build cases with local plans adopted after 1 January 2021 on Islands Brygge itself, so the stricter rule for new builds rarely applies here. If you are unsure about the rules for your specific address, we check the specific local plan.
